چکیده

In Turkish, transitivity is defined according to both syntactic and semantic criteria. However, the types of transitional verbs sentences, determined by criteria, often contradict each other. Sometimes, a verb or sentence which meets condition may not satisfy vice versa. There are two reasons cause this contradiction. Nominal Verbs and Transitive Nouns: Vindicating Lexicalism*

The earliest generative work derived all nominalizations syntactically (Chomsky 1955-6, Lees 1960).
